Sightseeing Highlights
We stop at several locations with stop times ranging between 10 and 30 minutes. Note that stop time is based upon guide discretion and certain stops are dependent on the weather.
Vibrant Downtown: Downtown San Diego is the heart of one of the most desirable cities in the nation, offering breathtaking waterfront locations, warm year-round temperatures and an exciting 24-hour live-work-play environment.
The Gaslamp Quarter: The Gaslamp Quarter is Southern California's premier dining, shopping and entertainment district, where you'll find a truly eclectic blend of food, fun and culture all within one of San Diego's most historic areas.
Balboa Park: World-renowned Balboa Park is home to fifteen museums, various arts and international culture associations, as well as the San Diego Zoo, making it one of the nation's largest cultural and entertainment complexes.
The Embarcadero: San Diego's original dockside, just west of downtown, is a remarkably clean and attractive area. Although it never developed as a major commercial port, the Embarcadero retains plenty of nautical ambience thanks to old ships moored at the Maritime Museum, the kitschy, early 20th century seafront architecture of Seaport Village and the San Diego Convention Center, whose design is said to have been inspired by an ocean liner.
La Jolla: In Spanish, La Jolla means "The Jewel." And indeed, this beautiful seaside town is the Jewel of America's finest city, San Diego. La Jolla is located 15 minutes from downtown San Diego.
Mount Soledad: From Mount Soledad, you'll glimpse panoramic ocean views! Enjoy gorgeous, 360-degree views under the shadow of a towering cross, now encircled with veteran's plaques.
Hotel Del Coronado: Rising from water's edge on the quaint island of Coronado in San Diego, the Hotel del Coronado is considered one of America's most beautiful beach resorts.
Old Town: Old Town San Diego, the first European settlement in what is now California, is often called the state's birthplace. In 1769, Father Junipero Serra founded the first California mission here. California's birthplace serves as the historic center of the city and is rich with the state's Spanish and Native American heritage.
1-Hour Harbor Cruise: View San Diego's magnificent harbor and skyline on our complimentary 1-hour cruise. As you sail past aircraft carriers, submarines, the Navy Seals Training Base and the Pacific Fleet, San Diego's connection to the sea and the United States military comes sharply into focus.
Capture city views with ships docked at the feet of San Diego's modern skyline or sea lions lounging on a buoy. Crane your neck to appreciate the Coronado Bay Bridge's size as you sail under it. |
